Imparare i mesi è semplice perché, a differenza di quanto accade con i giorni, la somiglianza con l’italiano è fortissima.

La parola per dire “mese” è month (pronunciato “manz”), mentre “anno” è year (pronunciato “iir”).

Key rules to remember
Anche per i mesi, ci sono un paio di regole da scolpire in mente che li rendono leggermente diversi dall’italiano.
Capital Initial: ALWAYS!
Proprio as i giorni della week, anche i mesi dell’anno devono sempre essere scritti con la letter capital initial in inglese.

La preposizione più usata: in
Quando specifichi il mese in cui avviene un evento, la preposizione che devi usare è quasi sempre in.

Attenzione! Se specifichi sia il giorno che il month (o l’anno), la preposizione cambia e torna ad essere on (la preposizione che abbiamo visto per i giorni della settimana).
The party is on October 20th.(La festa è il 20 ottobre.)The course starts on May 1st.(Il corso inizia il 1° maggio.)

A little bonus! The months, of course, soare not linked to seasons (seasons). In english we use the preposition in for seasons.
